Sunday, February 15. 2009MY EXPENSIVE KITCHEN FAUCET LOOKS LIKE JUST AN ORDINARY FAUCET HUH? I'll try to make an ugly and very long story short. A couple of weeks ago my husband replaced the kitchen faucet. For most of you I could stop there!  When we finished.. a pipe under the sink blew off and water started running everywhere but we caught it and got it fixed. 2 days later we left to go to visit my cousin's husband in hospital and we were gone for approx. 2 hours. When we got home I stepped into utility room and into water deep enough to get my shoes wet and when I opened the kitchen door water came rushing out. The kitchen floor was flooded and it was almost half way into the living room and hall. And because of the way our cabinets are made the water got into my silverware and dishtowel drawers and bottom cabinets. AND YES I keep my paper goods and all the boxed stuff in those cabinets. WHAT A MESS to clean up! After a week of denial and saying "we" could dry the carpet and pad out.....we finally went carpet shopping. SO We are getting new carpet...not just in the living room and hall BUT in both bedrooms too! WOOWOO The carpet we have now was put in after the tornado in 1999...so its time for ALL NEW.
